My Interests
Photography
I seem to take a lot of photos of kids playing sport and landscapes. I've used using various pieces of software to manage my photo
collection and I'm currently trying out DigiKam. It seems to have really good catorisation and fitering tools and the basic editor
is Ok and useable for my purposes.
I have started using it to mark 'good' photos, which I can then filter on and then select all and then drag and drop my selection from within the application to upload them to Facebook albums etc.
My Projects
Our kids swimclub often at runs club meets some Friday nights. We are always reusing old 'official'
time sheets and never seem to have enough. So I wrote a form and PHP program to take in the meet details and generate an RTF file so that the
timekeepers can have one event per page (or multiple to save paper) to record the swimmers times.
Basic Maths Facts practice
Kids don't practice basic mathematics facts at school any more!! My son did but now my daughter doesn't and her addition, subtraction and multiplication
ability show it.
So I wrote yet another form and PHP program to allow her to define the problems she wants, the range of numbers to practice on and how many equations she wants.
